Dear Parents/Guardians, The Kids & Youth Spiritist Education offered by the Spiritism 4U Project, makes use of online conferencing platforms like. ZOOM, to connect the children with the educators. We believe that there is no better teaching and learning method than conducting lessons in a physical environment and face-to-face interaction. However, with life changes due the pandemic as well as to accommodate families’ busy schedules, we have decided to provide children spiritual education by conducting classes through the use of technologies easily available to everyone. We believe that education starts at home and as we work with the children online, we hope to build a strong relationship with the families to support their education beyond the class time. Our proposal is to take advantage of the ability children have to interact with others and express themselves through digital applications and create an environment where they can talk, play, and learn together about the contents of the Spiritist Doctrine, always based on the instructions of the friendly spirits and seeking the greater example of our master Jesus. The classes also make use of other technologies as teaching tools such as google tools, Jamboard, and Flipgrid among others. With these technologies available, we ensure that it is used properly as comply with the following federal laws: Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) COPPA is a law that deals with how websites and other online operations, including applications, collect data and information from children under the age of 13. Spiritism 4U will conduct classes and use the technologies with students for the sole purpose of education and won’t allow other third party access to student personal information. Under FERPA, while schools may disclose directory information of the students, parents may request the school not disclose this information. Spiritism 4U has no intent to disclose students’ information for directory purposes. Spiritism 4U also seeks permission to create an online account for your child (children) in a dedicated and safe educational platform such as ClassDojo or similar for class communication and student showcase.
